A Motorcycle Expeditions representative will meet and greet you at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. From here, you’ll be transferred by private bus or taxi to your hotel in Hanoi for an overnight stay and the afternoon will be spent on tour around this magical city.
The amazing journey starts at 8.00 am from Hanoi to the Northeast region of Vietnam. The urban view is replaced by the rustic countryside road being a mix of on and off-road with plenty of rural villages between hills, rice fields and green tea fields. Rest assured that there will be ample stops for photos and visits with the friendly local people. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
We’ll take an exhilarating ride along some of the most breathtaking roads and mountain passes, offering plenty of opportunities for scenic stops. Our route promises an exciting blend of on and off-road terrain as we traverse through Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai, two remote gems nestled in Yen Bai province. Here, amidst the rugged landscapes, the Black H’mong, Dzao, and Thai communities have sculpted stunning rice terraces into the mountains. Our journey culminates in the serene villages of the Tay people. Dinner and overnight stay in a homestay.
Today’s scenery promises a refreshing change from the landscapes of previous days. In addition to marvelling at the terraced fields, we’ll also be treated to sweeping views of lush green tea farms as we pass through the villages of the Tay and H’mong people. A highlight of the day is our journey along the O Quy Ho Pass, renowned as one of Northern Vietnam’s most stunning routes. Following a leisurely exploration of bustling Sapa, we’ll embark on a picturesque ride to a charming village nearby. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
We’ll set off from Sapa, riding our motorbikes down winding passes towards Lao Cai, a bustling provincial capital, boasting one of the largest gateways to China. Upon reaching, we’ll pause to explore its surroundings or catch a glimpse of China from Vietnam’s perspective and seize the opportunity to have lunch, after which, our adventure continues as we ascend to Bac Ha, where we’ll be greeted by countless stunning landscapes to marvel at. Dinner and overnight stay at a homestay.
With an early start, we head to the Can Cau market, where people from different ethnic groups on both sides of the border gather to create a captivating spectacle that transcends time, every Saturday morning. After a hearty lunch in Xin Man town, our expedition continues through arguably the most breathtaking scenery in all of northern Vietnam while we explore some awesome off-road tracks. As the sun begins its descent, we’ll arrive in Ha Giang. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Our route primarily consists of small, challenging mountain roads, which despite their difficulty, offer breathtakingly beautiful scenery in the land of colourful hill tribes. This presents an excellent opportunity to immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of the local tribes. It’s truly inspiring to witness their resilience as they carve out a living amidst the rocky terrain. We will also cross the Ma Pi Leng pass in an area renowned for its exquisite beauty. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
We’re off to an early start on an invigorating mix of sand and dirt trails, scattered with small stones. For the better part of today’s journey, we follow the Indus River past Chumathang. There’ll be a quick stop / check post near Upshi, before we head on to Leh, past the Thiksey Monastery, on the Leh – Manali highway. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Venturing off the beaten path as long as possible, we journey towards the Red River Delta. Our route offers a blend of challenging tracks and smooth, scenic roads leading back to Hanoi. The final stretch, spanning 80 kilometers, proves the toughest as we navigate through bustling local traffic on the main road to reach Hanoi city centre. Expect the tour to conclude around 3:30 PM, marking the end of our memorable expedition.
Spend the morning having a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a quick walk about the city before you are transferred to the Noi Bai International Airport for your flight home. We hope that you have fallen in love with this exotic country and return home with a heart full of unforgettable memories.
