Day 1 – Bandaranaike International Airport to Negombo (15km, ½hr)
Ayubowan, Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be received by a representative of Motorcycle Expeditions at the airport and then transferred to the wonderful Negombo beach in a private vehicle. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 2 – Negombo to Sigirya (155km, 4-5hrs)
We start this trip with a ride to the Sigiriya rock fortress, a most fascinating UNESCO world heritage site. After lunch, we’ll experience traditional village life in Habarana before heading to Sigiriya. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 3 – Sigiriya to Trincomalee (110km 3-4hrs)
Following an early breakfast, we ride towards the peninsula city of Trincomalee on the East Coast. The magnificent beaches are ideal for swimming, scuba diving, wind surfing and whale watching. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 4 – Trincomalee to Polonnaruwa (150km 4-5hrs)
We turn our trusty steeds inland to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. It was the Sri Lankan capital from 11th – 13th century and is believed to be one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 5 – Polonnaruwa to Knuckles Mountain (160km,4-5hrs)
The road takes us high up into the clouds to the profound beauty of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 6 – Knuckles Mountain to Kandy (80km,3hrs)
Kandy is next on the map. Here we have options to visit the infamous Buddhist Temple of the Sacred Tooth and the Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Seeing a Traditional Devil Dance in the evening is also a possibility. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 7 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (80km, 3hrs)
Tea, tea and more tea! After today, you’ll be an expert since we’ll ride past wonderfully lush tea plantations and even visit a tea factory and enjoy the fragrance of newly roasted black tea. On the way, we’ll stop off at the Ramboda waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 8 – Nuwara Eliya to Yala via Tissamaharama (150km, 4-5hrs)
From here, it’s all downhill to Tissahamarama and into the wilderness of Yala National Park, home to leopards and native Sri Lankan elephants. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 9 – Yala to Mirissa (120km, 3-4hrs)
We continue along the southern coastline to Mirissa beach. Here we can visit Galle fort and do some whale watching while witnessing the glorious sun set. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 10 – Mirissa to Kuruvita (175km, 5-6hrs)
The road takes us through verdant rainforest and around a myriad of bends and twisties, each more breathtaking than the last, with some spectacular vantage points. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 11 – Kuruvita to Negombo (95km, 3-4hrs)
The last riding day presents us with rice fields and white water rafting points. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore Negombo some more, or do some last minute souvenir shopping. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 12 – Negombo to Bandaranaike International Airport (15km, ½hr)
Alas, this is the end of this journey. You’ll be transferred by private taxi to the airport. Hopefully you will have had a most spectacular ride with us, till the next ride.
