This motorcycle expedition around South-Western and Central Sri Lanka has been especially designed to discover the highlights of this magical island. Our magnificent Royal Enfields will roar along the Western coastline, cut across the country through verdant jungles and zigzag over mountains to reveal the most captivating landscapes from above. Legendary friendliness and a rich cultural history interwoven with old colonial forts, ancient temples, spectacular tea plantations, wild elephants and serene beaches, will fabricate a magical tapestry to enrich the experience of your motorcycle journey

Day 1 – Bandaranaike International Airport to Negombo (15km, ½hr)

Ayubowan, Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be received by a representative of Motorcycle Expeditions at the airport and then transferred to the wonderful Negombo beach in a private vehicle. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.

Day 2 – Negombo to Sigirya (155km, 4-5hrs)

We start this trip with a ride to the Sigiriya rock fortress, a most fascinating UNESCO world heritage site. After lunch, we’ll visit a village in Habarana to experience traditional village life. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3 – Sigiriya to Knuckles Mountains (120km, 3-4hrs)

The road takes us high up into the clouds to the profound beauty of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 4 – Knuckles Mountains to Nuwara Eliya (130km, 4-5hrs)

Tea, tea and more tea! After today, you’ll be a tea connoisseur since we’ll ride past wonderfully lush tea plantations and even visit a tea factory and enjoy the fragrance of newly roasted black tea. On the way, we’ll stop off at the Ramboda waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 5 – Nuwara Eliya to Yala via Tissamaharama (150km, 4-5hrs)

From here, it’s all downhill to Tissahamarama and into the wilderness of Yala National Park, home to leopards and native Sri Lankan elephants. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 6 – Yala to Mirissa (120km, 3-4hrs)

Our trusty steeds will continue to roar along the southern coastline to Mirissa beach. Here we can visit Galle fort (optionally) and do some whale watching while witnessing the glorious sun set. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 7 – Mirissa to Kuruvita (175km, 5-6hrs)

The road takes us through verdant rainforest and around a myriad of bends and twisties, each more breathtaking than the last, with some spectacular vantage points. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 8 – Kuruvita to Negombo (95km, 3-4hrs)

The last riding day presents us with rice fields and white water rafting points. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore Negombo some more, or do some last minute souvenir shopping. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

 

Day 9 – Negombo to Bandaranaike International Airport (15km, ½hr)

Alas, this is the end of this journey. You’ll be transferred by private taxi to the airport. Hopefully you will have had a most spectacular ride with us, till the next ride.
